Yorkshire Sauce

Sauces and Spicery
Yorkshire

Hot Port wine sauce (Port, chopped shallots and thyme in gravy) with redcurrant jelly and orange peel. Not known in this form before Hutchins 1967, though a sauce of the same name (made from butter, sugar, lemon and nutmeg) occurs in American cookbooks from 1866.

Not to be confused with Yorkshire Relish
