Melton Hunt Cake

A very rich and moist fruit cake made sultanas, currants, muscavado sugar, butter, eggs, cherries, almonds and rum, decorated on top with cherries and almonds.

Created in 1854 by baker John Dickinson for the Melton Hunt, the receipt has continued to be faithfully followed.
