Egg and Apple or Marigold Eggs

Accompaniments

An open tart of a shortcrust base filled with cooked sliced apple, topped with egg custard flavoured slightly with sage and very strongly with marigold petals. An accompaniment for roast pork given in 'Food in England' by Dorothy Hartley (Hartley 1954).
