Conference Pear

Fruit and Vegetables
Hertfordshire

A multi-purpose, long, tapered yellow-green pear. Very juicy when ripe. Developed by Thomas Rivers of Sawbridgeworth, the odd name comes from it having won the only first-class certificate at the International Pear Conference at Chiswick in 1885.
