Blackburn Cracknels

Soda-raised, unflavoured, white wheatflour dough formed into rounds c2ins diameter, 1/8in thick, surface pricked all over, baked. Served with cheese.

1/2 lb flour
2 oz lard
1/2 oz baking powder
1/4 pint milk

Rub the sifted flour with the lard to breadcrumbs. Add the other ingredients and form a dough. Roll 1/8 ins thick, cut into 3 ins rounds, prick all over and bake for 30 mins at 325F.
