 An English Piquant Sauce sauce. There have been several products of this name, from Broome's, Mackrell's and Picton & Hattons (all in Liverpool) in the 1850's to Parkinson of Blackburn's 'East Lancashire Sauce' in the 1890's.  Liverpool Mail - Saturday 16 August 1851 Lancashire Sauce based on vinegar with curry spices and oil is manufactured now by Entwistle's of Ramsbottom.
