Cornish Sago Pudding

Baked sago pudding with sliced apples. Known from several news references of the early 20th Century


Original Receipt from the 'North Devon Journal' - Thursday 27 July 1922

Cornish Pudding.—Take three apples, pare, core, and slice them, three tablespoonfuls sugar, half teacupful sago, and a little grated nutmeg. Mix these and put a well-buttered piedish. Pour over them enough boiling milk to nearly fill the dish. Put a little butter on the top, and bake in mode rate oven for one and a half hours.
